I came across this darling DIY save the date idea on one of my favorite blogs, 100 layer cake. Straight from an inspiration blog, oh, hello friend, this inexpensive, adorable save the date idea is sure to impress any vintage soul.
Here's what you'll need:
Manilla Tags, any size
Jute Twine
Assorted patterned paper
Date Stamp (a library stamp will work great here, but individual stamps are okay too)
Paper Clips
Vintage charms (found on etsy, a craft store, or ebay)
Lace doilies (thrift finds!)
"Save The Date" stamp (or again, individual letter stamps)
a sewing machine
Cut the doily to fit on a quarter to half of the tag. Sew on the right side of the tag and cut off excess lace.
Cut your patterned paper to size. Stamp your date on the patterned paper--making sure the paper isn't too busy and you choose an ink color that will show up. Paper clip the paper on the left side of the manilla tag.
Stamp your "save the date" on the tag.
Wrap the twine around the tag and string a vintage charm to be places on front of tag. Tie the twine in a knot.
Voila! How adorable are these Save The Dates? You can customize by using your names and themed paper or charms. It has texture and charm (no pun intended!) and it certainly beats a traditional, cookie cutter postcard! A refreshing piece of mail for your guests to receive!
Make sure you check out the full tutorial on 100 layer cake and swing over to oh, hello friend to get inspired over and over again!
